Paul Hood

Paul Hood, 83, passed away July 12, 2023 peacefully with his family by his side after a sudden illness.

He lived all but a few years of his life in Tallmadge.  Paul was a graduate of Tallmadge High, Class of 1957 and attended Allegany College in Meadville, PA.

In 1960, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Deanna Berger. He worked for Haynes Plumbing and Heating, Inc and in 1976 bought the company. He was a member and past president of the Ohio State Associating of the PHCC.

Paul was the son of depression era parents who instilled in him the value of hard work which he passed on to his family, friends and employees. After retiring, Paul loved to give bags of caramels to all the special people in his life. He could be seen daily sitting in his chair in front of his house enjoying the birds and deer.

He is preceded in death by, Deanna Hood; grandson, Michael; and great grandchild infant, Ellie.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Beth (Gary); son, Jeff (Dina); grandchildren, Nicole, Gary, David, Dana, and Dylan; four great grandchildren; brothers, Haven (Linda) Hood, Les (Tracy) Hood; sister, Madonna (Fred) Metcalf; and long time secretary and dear friend, Jerri.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven of Rest, your favorite charity or pay it forward to someone in need, like our father did.

Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Private services will be held with interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
