Paul Joseph Kamlowsky, Jr., passed away at hisTallmadge home on July 11, 2016. He was 64. Paul was born and raised in Akron graduating from Hower High School in 1971.
Shortly after beginning his career in carpentry, he met and married his wife, Gail (Ray) Kamlowsky in 1974. Paul eventually opened Precision Cabinets, a boutique cabinet shop, where he spent the next several decades of his career as an owner with s brother in law, Dan Ray. Paul and Gail welcomed their only son, Michael into the family in 1987. Paul and Michael enjoyed spending time together with the YMCA Indian Guides as well as many joyous family events at their home. In the last years of his life, Paul worked with the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
Paul's life was centered around his family and he spoke often of his deep love for them. Paul was a very sentimental soul and prided himself on his encyclopedia-like knowledge of Akron and its history. He was an avid lover of history, was very patriotic and spoke often of his love for country.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Joseph Sr. And Eileen (Sonneberger) Kamlowsky and his father in law, Ralph C. Ray, Sr all of Akron.
Paul is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gail; son, Michael; brothers, Larry, Greg, and Bernard Kamlowsky; sister, Chris Hitchcock; mother in law, Carol Ray; brothers in law, RalphJr., Dave and Dan Ray; many close cousins and more than a dozen nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southhwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Cirle).
A brief Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., with Deacon Phil Kamlowsky officiating.
