Paul Edward Weakland

Paul Edward Weakland, 89, of Akron, Ohio went to be with his Lord on October 12, 2016.

Born August 17, 1927 in Barnesboro, PA, Paul joined the Army in 1945 and served in France as part of the Ordnance Disposal Unit and was honorably discharged in March of 1947.  He loved to travel and took many driving vacations to all parts of the country with his wife and nine children. Paul worked as an auto mechanic at Green AMC in Akron, was a member of Christ the King Parish, Holy Name Society and recently a member of Blessed Trinity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Sherwin) Weakland of Barnesboro, PA; brothers, Sam, Irvin, Walter and Joseph; sister, Betty Cook; first wife, Lois (Plaskey) Weakland; grandson, Anthony Lettieri; and his wife of 45 years, Alice (Panczak) Weakland.

Paul is survived by his sister, Agnes Wilshire (96); sons, Charles (Barb), Mark and John; daughters, Myra, Cleo, Paula, Donna (Robert) Delagrange, Sally, Susan (Joseph) Lettieri; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Friends and family can call on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 East Tallmadge Ave., Akron with Rev. Joseph Warner officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron.
