IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Perry (Perino)
"Pat" A. Fruscella
April 11, 1926 – March 11, 2022
Perry (Perino) "Pat" A. Fruscella, 95, passed away on March 11, 2022.
Perry was born on April 11, 1926 and lived most of his life on North Hill in Akron, Ohio. He attended both Jackson Grade School and St. Martha (Blessed Trinity), and then Howard Trade School, where he studied printing. His dad was a shoemaker and, at the age of twelve, Perry learned the trade and began working with his father, who was in ill health. Because of this, Perry, at the age of fourteen, became responsible for the business and for supporting his family. In his 40's, Perry decided to sell his shoe business and became a carpet and flooring salesman. In time, he and his friend Bob started their own company, P&B Carpet. He loved the thrill and challenge of making a sale.
During his life, Perry and his wife Elsie helped countless people, who were in need, especially neighbors who were elderly and alone. When Elsie became ill, Perry became her primary caregiver until her death in 2012. Perry enjoyed walking, two miles daily, all the way up to age 91. Perry and Elsie loved to dance and to travel. He was a lifelong member of Blessed Trinity (St. Martha) Parish.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie (nee Agrima) of 63 years; his parents, Eugene Fruscella and the former Josephine Danzi; his sister Louise Herink. Perry is survived by his children, Karen (Chuck) Duvall, Christine Fruscella, Terri (Joe) Onderko, and Perry (Andrea) Fruscella; grandchildren Renee (Dylan), Brooke (Mike), Jaclyn, Brandon, Lydon, Nicole, Ivana, and Joey; great grandchildren, Zoe, Myla, and Evan.
The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the devoted and talented staff at The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn, Ohio, for their nearly six years of care. We are deeply appreciative of their genuine compassion and kindness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, 300 E. Tallmadge Avenue, Akron. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Donations may be made to The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn.
