Quintin J. Basco, 85, passed away June 24, 2015.

Born in Barberton, Quintin had lived in Tallmadge for most of his life.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1983 from the State of Ohio with 30 years of service.

Quintin signed a professional baseball contract and played for Midland, Texas, of the Longhorn League during the 1950 season.  He was inducted into the Barberton Sports Hall of Fame and Summit County Sports Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed horse racing and sports.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; sisters, Virginia, Cecelia, Caroline, Maryann, Dolores, Claudia, and Anna; brothers, Joseph and Edward.

Quintin is survived by his daughters, Judi (Brian) Snyder of Tallmadge and Susan (Tom) Cirner of Stow; grandchildren, Taylor and Adam Snyder and Jim and Allison Cirner; brother in law, Ed Kozarevic of Doylestown; sister in law, Jody DeVaughn of Tallmadge; and several nieces, nephews, neighbors and his many friends at the President's Lounge.

Visitation will be 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the visitation.
