Raymond Anthony Rich, 95, passed away December 17, 2024. Born December 17, 1929, in Akron, he lived all of his life in the Akron area.
Ray retired from Jay-Em Machine as a machinist. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Victor Paul Assembly and was in the choir. He was also a member of the Primietimers. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, casino's, bingo and traveling. Though deaf in one ear, Ray played piano from the heart without reading music. Ray was best known for his beautiful tenor voice, forever etched on records, tapes and on the hearts of all who experienced his gift.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; parents, Salvatore and Elena (Cea) Rich; sister, Marguerite Catanese; brothers, Robert Rich and Ronald Rich; and granddaughter, Alexis.
Ray is survived by his children, Loretta (Don) Heath, Rebecca (Joseph) Scaglione, Jeffrey (Dawn) Rich, Gregory (Robin) Rich, Pamela (Nick) Skeriotis and Rodney (Stacey) Rich; grandchildren, Anthony, Christine, Mitchell, Lea, Niko, Jordan, Breanna and Chelsea; and great grandsons, Gunnar, Owen, Hudson.
A sincere thank you to Sarah and all the AMAZING nurses and staff that took care of Dad during his time at Tallmadge Health and Rehab.
Visiting hours will be 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 20 24 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge.
Mass of Christian burial will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
