Renee Yanik (Ardella), 65, lost her courageous year long battle with lung cancer December 2, 2014.

She was a lifelong resident of Akron. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to her friends at the Mayflower along with her dog, Sassy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and William Ardella. Renee is survived by her sister, Francine (Jim) Klett and long time loving companion, John Kormendy. Special thanks to her friend Scott.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 N. Main St., Akron, with Father Joe Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
