Richard "Rick" Delmoro

Richard "Rick" Delmoro of Tallmadge Ohio was born on June 3, 1946 to his parents Edward and Alba Delmoro and passed away March 22, 2025.

Growing up in Hudson Ohio and he graduated from Hudson High School in 1964. In 1969, he met and married Donna Lee Harvey who became his devoted partner of 55 years, and survives with their three sons, Steven (Dawn) of Doylestown, OH, Scott (Nicole) of Houston, TX and Michael (Nicole) Alliance, OH. Rick endlessly enjoyed his 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Always mechanically inclined, Rick entered into the Firestone apprenticeship program, graduated Journeyman Mold Maker in 1969, and was awarded Firestone's Apprentice of the Year. He stayed at Firestone for 18 years, shaping much of his career. He retired from Akron Special Machine in 2012 after 23 years as VP of Sales. A respected Innovator of tire testing equipment, Rick earned 22 US Patents for his efforts in the field.

Rick was a self-titled 'Frustrated Farmer' and operated his four acre property in Tallmadge with many a Tractor and other farm equipment - John Deere's being his favorites. These were stored in his large pole building, his sanctuary, where his curiosity and skill allowed him to fix anything and everything.

Rarely the center of attention, Rick always had a quick wit and engaging sense of humor that endeared him to those who knew him. He was known to say with a smirk, "a Pun is the lowest form of humor that many can't appreciate, because they don't understand them."

Rick enjoyed traveling with Donna, exploring all corners of the country on meandering road trips to visit family and new destinations that interested him. He was a man who enjoyed close family, never happier than having his grandkids at his house, giving them tractor rides, telling them stories and teaching them words to his favorite Beach Boys songs.

Visitation will be 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, April. 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Victory, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge.
