Richard "Dick" L. Gibson

While he waited on the Lord he lived a full and Godly life.

Richard (Dick) Gibson, of Tallmadge, Ohio passed away peacefully November 25, 2021, holding his granddaughters' hands. We know for certain that he was welcomed into the arms of his Savior and has been reunited with his dear wife, Ella.

Born August 26, 1930 in Kenmore, Ohio, Richard met and married his wife, Ella, while attending Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, MA. He and Ella had a marriage that never stopped growing stronger.

Richard was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife of 70 years who passed in May of this year. He held her hand every day and his eyes still sparkled when she walked in a room. We are all better people for having their lives and love story be our examples.

Richard is survived by five children. Sam (Cyndi), Jeff (Debbie), Susan (David), Steve (Dana) and John (Angie). Twelve grandchildren: Marcia, Angela, Jonathan, Emily, Hannah, Nikki, Kristin, Shon, Brianna, Umaraa, Cody and Graham. Seventeen great grandchildren: Rory, Jana, Francis, Drazen, Cassie, Jamie, Story, Daily, Skylar, Claire, Ella, John (his chess buddy), Sophia, Nathan, Andrew, Danny and Valerie. He prayed for each of us by name every day.

We would like to thank Nurse Maddie from Summa. Maddie, you were the answer to our prayers and we cannot thank you enough.

Calling hours are TODAY, Tuesday, November 30th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service are Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Fishcreek Nazarene Church, 4669 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH, 44224. Richard's friend, Reverend Abe Williams, will officiate.
