Richard Frederick Norman

Richard “Superman” Norman, 77, passed away August 28, 2026. Born in Barberton, he lived most of his life in the Akron area.

Richard served in the US Army and would then go on to be a machinist and a mechanic for many different companies over the years of his life. He was a jack-of-all trades and enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers. He was known for always helping his friends and doing anything for anyone.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; and parents, Harrison and Goldie Norman.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Garey and Brandi Norman; grandchildren, Annabelle Daugherty, Zakary Konich, and Kole Konich; siblings, Dorothy Sheppard, Joanne Kirby, James Norman, Daniel Norman, and Michael Norman; and many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Private interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
