Robert E Bachtel

Robert E. Bachtel, 89, passed away November 14, 2018. Born in Barberton. He lived most of his life in Tallmadge.

Robert served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1994 from Norton Company. He was an active member of Bailey Road Christian Church and the Greater Akron Model T Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Arlene Bachtel; brother, Marvin and brother in law, Harold Johnson.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beth, whom he faithfully cared for during her progression of Alzheimer's. He is also survived by daughter, Irene (Robert) Smith; sons, Edward Bachtel, Richard (Cathie) Bachtel; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be at Noon following visitation.  Pastor Timothy J. Brown officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
