Robert Chaffin

Robert R. Chaffin, 65, passed away August 1, 2018. Born in Sunbury, he lived most of his life in the Akron area. Robert served in the U.S. Army and retired from Technidrill Company as an Electrician. "Bob" was a local musician and played the bass guitar. He was active in AA and was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and JoAnn Chaffin. Robert is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Fincham; grandchildren, Brandon, Dakota, Cheyanne; sisters, Debra Chaffin, Rebecca (Donald) Mackey, Sallie (Patrick) Benedict; and  many extended family and friends. Graveside service will be promptly at 10:00 a.m. August 31, 2018 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Rittman, Ohio. A celebration of life will be at 11:15 am, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Tallmadge United Methodist Church 207 N Munroe, Tallmadge. A meal will be generously provided immediately following the service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, 775 N. Main St., Akron, Ohio 44310.
