Robert "Bob" Charles Pohelia Jr.

March 21, 1963 — November 6, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Charles Pohelia Jr., who died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 6th, 2025, at the age of 62. Born in Akron on March 21st, 1963, Bob lived a life full of kindness, teaching, and adventure and touched the hearts of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Barbara Ann Pohelia.

Bob is survived by his wife Marcia; sons Andrew (Allison) Pohelia, Aaron (Alexus) Pohelia; stepdaughters Britni Bates, Noel Sparks (Ryan); sister Tracey (Bill) Pawlowski, a large loving extended family and many friends. Also, his beloved furry family members Merlin, Pixie, Titan, Piper, Ella, Daisy, Zeus, Lemon, Connie, and Shelley. Bob's love of cooking began almost as soon as he could stand; he'd get up super early and sit on the kitchen floor joyfully banging pots and pans and mischievously getting in the fridge to "make something". That early joy blossomed into a lifelong passion for cooking dishes that brought people together, particularly his infamous Thanksgiving meals. Bob had a genetically inherited devotion to model trains following in his father's footsteps. Bob was an avid outdoorsman being a legacy hiker with the Summit Metro Parks starting at the age of 5 in 1968; what started as a family tradition became a treasured ritual that lasted until this Fall.  Nature was his sanctuary, and he found peace in every trail. Bob was also an Assistant Scout Leader with the Boy Scouts for over 15 years. Bob had a strong passion to mentor, coach, and teach everyone he encountered. Viewing hours will be held on Thursday, November 13th at Donovan Funeral Home from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held immediately following at 6:00 p.m.. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Summit Metro Parks Foundation, in honor of Bob's legacy.

Bob will be eternally missed and loved
