Robert A Craig

July 21, 1933 — March 23, 2017

Robert A. (Bob) Craig, 83, passed away March 23, 2017. Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge.

Bob was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, and the University of Akron.  He served in the U.S. Army 100th Tank Battalion at the end of the Korean War, and retired as an Accountant with 30 years of service at Firestone Rubber, plus 15 years at Mohawk. After retirement, he worked at Our Lady of Victory Church. He was a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts Troop #3310, President of The ARC, and served on the Summit County Board of Mental Health.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. Raymond and Frances Craig.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; sons, Thomas (Terri) Craig of Tallmadge, Dennis (Roseanne) Craig of Barberton, Dan Craig of Austin Texas, Jerry (Joyce) Craig of Brimfield, Robert (Marsha) Craig Jr. of Perry, Joseph Craig of Cuyahoga Falls, Mark (Kristen) Craig of Elyria; sisters, Mary Ellen Coolman of Wadsworth, Marjory (Josef) Townsell of Clinton, IHM Sister Evelyn Craig of Raleigh, N.C.; 22 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Bob and his family also wish to express their deep appreciation for Deena Franks and the dedicated staff at PALS.

Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2017  at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge, Ohio.

Family and friends may be received after the mass at 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Tallmadge High School Rotunda 140 N. Munroe Road, Tallmadge.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ardmore Foundation, 981 E Market St. Akron OH 44305.
