Robert B. Scherer Jr.

Robert B. Scherer Jr passed away on July 24, 2026. Born on September 29, 1947 in Akron, Ohio he lived most of his life in the Akron and Tallmadge areas after retirement.

He served in the ROTC for 2 years which led to enlisting in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. Robert graduated from Akron University as a Civil Engineer. He was a Field Engineer and worked for American Bridge Co. in Florida, NASA for 15 years and PanAm. Robert was an avid bike rider, a book collector and was very well read.

He was preceded by parents, Robert and Gertrude Scherer Sr.; brothers, Ted (Sue) and Michael Scherer.

Robert is survived by his sisters, Gwendolyn Tomaiko, Kathy Green, Lavinia Grecco; brothers, John and James Scherer; sister-in-law, Cindy Scherer; many nieces, nephews and family.

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
