Robert C. Sheppard

Robert C. Sheppard, 90, passed away July 28, 2026. Born in Akron, he lived in Tallmadge for 26 years before moving to Akron.

Robert served in the U.S. Army Reserves and retired as Head Custodian with the Akron Public Schools. He was a member of Ham Radio Clubs. Robert also enjoyed donating knit hats to several organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Cora Sheppard; daughter, Kathleen Sheppard; sister, Lois Rasnick; and brother, Jack Sheppard.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Christine (Bruce Bukovi) Maxim, Jean (Christopher) Rettos, Jane (Tim) Roberts, Lisa (Greg) Chaplin, Cheryl (REC) Crites; grandchildren, Amanda (Kevin) Lewis, Justin Maxim, Dallas Roberts, Delaney Roberts, Amber Whipple, Jacob Whipple, Aliviah Chaplin, Isabel Chaplin, Ethan Chaplin; four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 12:00 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dallas Billington officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
