Robin V Pelton

Robin Pelton, 60, passed away February 2, 2017. Born in Akron, where she lived all of her life.

She retired in 2006 with over 30 years service as a Testing Specialist with the University of Akron. Robin was an active member of Akron Canton TRIO (Transplant Recipients International Organization) and the University of Akron Retirees Assoc.

Robin loved reading, playing Scrabble with friends, conversations with her dearest friends, spending time with family, playing with and engaging in entertaining activities with nieces and nephews and the children of friends and acquaintances. She derived great joy from sending cards and giving gifts, with sitting on the floor with children and doing something as simple as helping them piece together a puzzle. She loved music, theater and stage productions of all kinds. Before health issues limited her, Robin loved to hike, to explore Earth's natural wonders, to revel in the beauty of nature's bountiful scenic places, especially our nation's parks. She loved to shop, not for herself, but for others. Perhaps most of all Robin loved to listen to others, always with a smile. Her most desired source of glee was the friendship of others. She delighted in the happiness of others. Happiness was a central part of her credo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Irma Smith; sister, Phoebe Hoover

Robin is survived by her husband, Randy Pelton; brothers, Scott Smith, Kim Smith, Harley W. Smith II;  nieces, Kristin Wertz, Kim Mount, Shannon Mada; nephew, Kyle Smith; dearest friends, Genny Growdon, Carol Gerrior, Beverly Murphy, Stacey Jackson.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home.
