Roger F. Carpenter

Roger F. Carpenter, 81, passed away May 12, 2018. Born in Grantsville, WV, he lived in Tallmadge since 1963.

Roger served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1991 after 30 years as a Tire Builder with Goodyear. He was a man of many talents. His greatest joy was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burlen and Barbara Carpenter; brother, Frank Carpenter.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Irene; daughters, Deborah Quintrell, Darla (Judd) Newman both of Tallmadge; son, Roger (Summer) Carpenter of Rootstown; grandchildren, Kassi, Ben, Matthew, Kelsey, Regan, Melissa, Faith, Noah, Jonah, Joy; great grandsons, Ethan, Grayson; sister, Phyllis Akers of Florida; brother, Glen Carpenter of Norton and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Harmony Baptist Church, 1127 Southeast Ave., Tallmadge, with Rev. Bernard Cristy officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
