Stow

Roger Fleming, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 28, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, Roger was the son of George and Frances Fleming. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a passion for family and life's simple pleasures.

Roger was a man of many interests, each of them close to his heart. He was a true lover of the outdoors, spending countless hours on the golf course and enjoying the peaceful serenity of fishing. His cherished boat was a symbol of his love for the water, where he found both solitude and joy. His craftsmanship was evident in his woodworking, creating beautiful, lasting pieces that spoke to his patience and creativity. Roger also had a love for cards, travel, and, of course, North Carolina State University, where he earned his degree in chemical engineering.

While Roger enjoyed many hobbies and pursuits throughout his life, nothing brought him more pride and joy than his family. He was especially proud of his children, Evelyn (Steve) Sprowl and Roger (Tina) Fleming, who were the light of his life. His grandchildren—Nicolas (Lori) Sprowl, Amanda (Gary) Newhard, Brandon, and Austin Fleming and two great granddaughters, Adalyn Sprowl and Madelyn Newhard, who brought even more joy into his life.—were his greatest treasures. Roger's heart swelled with love as he watched each of them grow and thrive, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on at soccer games, baseball games, bowling matches, and races.

Roger's professional life was marked by a long and successful career at Goodyear, where he worked diligently and with pride. Yet, it was his role as a devoted father and grandfather that truly defined him. He was a family man through and through, and his love and support for his loved ones were boundless. His passion for opera, classical music, and Frank Sinatra's timeless tunes filled the air, creating moments of warmth and connection with those around him.

A true family man, Roger's love for his loved ones was evident in every part of his life. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, and his memory will forever be cherished.

Rest in peace, Pops. You lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. You will never be forgotten.
