IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosa
Piermarini
November 14, 1929 – December 23, 2013
Rosa Piermarini, 84, passed away and was received in God's loving arms on December 23, 2013. She was at home, in the company of her four sons, their wives, and grandchildren. Rosa was born on November 14, 1929 in Valle Orta in Appignano del Tronto, Italy. As a child, she was injured in an unfortunate farming accident. Through the sacrifices of her family, Rosa was able to study and ultimately become an elementary school teacher. She taught in multiple small towns in Italy, one of which was Pretare, where she eventually met her husband, Emidio. Rosa made many sacrifices, including leaving her family in Italy, to begin a new life with her loving husband. In 1961, shortly after they were married in Italy, she immigrated to the United States. Together, they worked hard and built a successful family business, Emidio's Pizza in Akron, Ohio. Soon enough, Rosa and Emidio were blessed with four sons, who would ultimately go on to expand the family business and continue the family legacy. In her retirement years, Rosa had the pleasure of returning to Italy with her family and spending time at their home in Pretare. "Nonna," as her grandchildren call her, enjoyed playing Italian cards and watching The Game Show Network with her family. Upon entering her home, there was always a feeling of warmth, love, and an invitation to eat. She was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio. For those who knew Rosa, they would describe her as a very caring and selfless woman who expressed love unconditionally. As a devout Catholic, Rosa saw everything as a blessing, even in tough times. Each morning, when her sons would join her for an espresso, Nonna would say, "I am the luckiest woman in the world," but we were the lucky ones to have had her in our lives. She will be missed by all that knew her, especially those who were blessed enough to call her Mamma or Nonna.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Emidio, her parents, Serafino and Domenica, and her brothers, Gabriele and Cesare. She is survived by her sons, Pellegrino (Tina), Domenico (Agnese), Emidio Jr., and Serafino (Karen); grandchildren, Emidio Antonio, Victoria, Olivia, Emidio Adolfo, Cesare, Mariette, Serafino Jr., Christopher, Pellegrino, and Domenico; and multiple nieces, nephews, and friends throughout Italy and the United States.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. Anthony of Padua, 83 Mosser Pl., Akron, Ohio 44310. Rite of Committal Service will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Hennessey Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 N. Main St. in Akron. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
