Rosie Gwendolyn Meade, 94, better known to most people as "Mamaw" passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on June 24, 2024. Born in Snowflake, Virginia, she lived most of her life in Akron, before moving to California.
Rosie was a member of the Apostolic Temple of Cuyahoga Falls. She loved her family and throughout her life she cared and nurtured countless others. Mamaw spent her life loving Jesus. Her impact went far beyond her family tree and her legacy extended throughout the globe. Mamaw lived her life as an example to everyone that came in contact with her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; parents, Charlie and Lillie Strong; sons, Daniel and Douglas; grandson, Perry Cutlip, granddaughter, Maria Meade and 10 of her siblings.
Rosie is survived by her sister, Peggy Hileman; her children, Rev. Donald (Lois), Rev. Terry (Jeannie), Judith Haughawout, Darlene (Gregory) Walker, Pamela (Mick) Cutlip, David (Lisa), Steven (Wanda), Kathy (Rex) Bailey, Deborah Bailey, Donna Lenz; 45 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Apostolic Temple of Cuyahoga Falls, 1601 Munroe Falls Ave, Cuyahoga Falls OH 44221.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Apostolic Temple of Cuyahoga Falls, 1601 Munroe Falls Ave, Cuyahoga Falls OH 44221 with Rev. Jimmy Lee officiating.
Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
