Sandra Lee (Hunter) Starkey

Sandra Lee Starkey, 87, passed away November 26, 2025. She was born in Akron and lived all of her life in the area.

Sandra worked many years at the Akron Board of Education. She retired from Roadway with over 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Matthew Church. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughters Michelle Starkey and Julie Light; brother, Sgt. William Hunter; granddaughter, Lauren Porter; daughter-in-law Jeannie Starkey and son-in-law Paul Light.

Sandra is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Jeff) Porter, Rebecca (Tony) Sims; sons, Timothy Starkey, Todd (Tiffiny) Starkey; half siblings, Robin McClung, Susan Hercules, Michael (Debbie) Dezso; grandchildren, Chris (Dayna) Sims, Jason (Amanda) Sims, Kyle (Heather) Light, Tyler Starkey (Jordan), Samantha Starkey, Sydney Starkey, Nick (Jordan) Porter and great grandchildren Caleb & Josh Sims; Evelyn, Emma, Hannah & Caroline Porter. She will also be missed by a host of other family & friends.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave. , Akron with Fr. Michael Williamson officiating. Procession to form at the church.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
