Sandra "Sandy" Sue (Byrd) Tsolakis

Sandra "Sandy" Sue Tsolakis, 68, passed away October 25, 2025.  Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in the area.

Sandy was a devoted member of Grace Cathedral. She loved traveling, dancing, and bringing her family together whenever possible. She made every holiday, birthday or family event magical. Sandy loved decorating and baking for holidays. She loved to live life to the fullest and encouraged everyone around her to do the same. Sandy radiated love and light to all of those around her. The world lost a beautiful soul, and she will be profoundly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Joann Byrd.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Achilles "Bob"; daughters, Chelsea (Ryan) Dunk of Stow, Rachel Metcalf of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, Ben (Amelia) Walling of Springfield, Tim Metcalf of Stow; grandchildren, Weston Dunk, Caden Walling, Aliyah, Eli and another grandson soon to arrive; sister, Vicki Hetland of Spring Hill, FL; brother, Jim Byrd of Stow; many nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with a sharing of memories and stories at 6:30 p.m..  There will also be a visitation 1 hour prior to service at Grace Cathedral.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025 at Grace Cathedral, 1055 Canton Rd., Akron with Pastor Chris Machamer officiating.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
