Sarah Ellen "Sally" Bowers

Sarah Ellen "Sally" Bowers, 87, passed away June 28, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She was born at home in Clinton, OH on February 22, 1937. Sally was the only child of Bud and Elizabeth Combs.

She grew up in Akron and graduated from Central High in 1954. In 1956 she married her childhood sweetheart, Gerald, and together had three children. They moved to Tallmadge in 1967 where they would raise their family.

Sally was the quintessential mother, room mom, and field trip chaperone. Later, she cherished being a grandmother and great grandmother. Nothing made her happier than having her family together. It brought her such great joy. She was also so lucky to have friendships that have spanned seventy years with "the girls".

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Combs.

Sally will be sorely missed by her husband of 68 years, Gerald; children, Gregory (Connie) Bowers, Scott (Cathy) Bowers, and Wendy (John) Rutan; grandchildren, Christopher (Lynne), Courtney, Michael, Alex (Amber), John (Katie), Kate, and Christian; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was a sassy, loving, and caring lady who will be forever missed.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family.

Sally was interred at Tallmadge cemetery.
