Shane Marcel Smith

Shane Marcel Smith, 32, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2022. He was born in Akron on February 7, 1990 and lived most of his life in Copley area.

Shane was a 2008 graduate of Copley High School, where he excelled in football, baseball and Wrestling. He enjoyed all and every sport and was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines. Shane was a health care aid and loved helping others. He loved all animals, especially dogs. Most people will remember Shane for his sense of humor and his love of singing.

Shane's life was meaningful and despite the disease of addiction he always had a purpose to love.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Smith, Sr.

Shane is survived by his mother, Charlese Smith; sister, Tashia N (Christopher, Sr.) Mingle; brother, David (Monique) Smith, Jr.; niece, Merci Mingle; nephew, Christopher Mingle; and many other family members and friends.

Tentative services and balloon release will be at Copley High School Football Field, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.. See facebook for details. and any changes due to weather.
