Shirley Ann (Boggs) McKee passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was a dedicated wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, proud great grandmother and everyone's good friend.
Shirley proudly graduated from Kenmore High School, class of '55. She enjoyed being captain of the cheerleading team, voted "most athletic," honored to be the homecoming queen and remained class treasurer to the end. She had a meaningful career with the B & O Railroad and the University of Akron, retiring in 2000.
Her favorite past times included spending time with family, playing Euchre, swimming, shopping, singing with her church chorus, cheering the Cleveland Cavs and Indians, and was a lifetime member of the Church in the Falls' ladies bible class and book club.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Cora and Riley Boggs; brother, Richard; and grand-daughter, Megan Cope.
She is survived by her husband, Donald "Joe" McKee; by her daughter, Diane, her husband Mike Cope and their two children, Matt and Chris; by her daughter, Donna, her husband Steve Meeks and their five children, Daniel, Caleb, Hannah, Benjamin, and Joshua; by her daughter JoAnn, her husband Kelly Young and their three daughters, Sarah, Rebekah, and Elizabeth; by her daughter, Rosalie, her husband Darrin Semick and their children, Darrin, Haley, Abigail, and Brady; and her son, Michael and partner Robert Racadio; and by six great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Podnar and brother, Tom Boggs and many nieces and nephews.
She will be in our hearts and minds forever.
Calling hours will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 4 - 7PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Services will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 10:00AM at Church in the Falls (a Church of Christ) at 837 Chestnut Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. The burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
