Sonjia Louise Thomas, 70, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016.  Sonjia was a lifelong Akron resident, after graduating in 1964 from Coventry High School. Cooking was one of Sonjia's passions, along with reading, playing Euchre, and spending time with her many friends and grandchildren.  She will be remembered for her compassion and love for everyone. Sonjia is preceded in death by her parents, William John Thomas and Mabel Lucille Leachman and daughter, Shannon Amedeo. She is survived by son, Matt (Darlene) Amedeo; grandchildren, Vince, Adam and Brooke; brothers, Bill (Penny) Thomas, Bob Thomas; sister, Karen Potter; 7 nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. She will be truly missed by many. A Memorial Service will be at 12 pm Saturday in the Parish Activity Center at St Paul Parish 1580 Brown St. Akron followed by a luncheon reception.
