Sophie (Petrovich) Byrd

Our dear mother, Sophie Byrd, 89, passed away on January 29, 2025.

She was a friend to many leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She had a beautiful smile that will be forever in our hearts. Sophia cherished her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Victory Church, and enjoyed spending many moments within her church community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Dual Byrd; parents, Anthony and Sophie Petrovich; sisters, Marie Misner, Mildred Besser; brother, Stanley Lukacevich.

Sophie is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Dwayne) Haines, Dianne (Jeff) Croskey; sons, David Byrd, Doug (Alexandra) Byrd; grandchildren, Rachael Haines, Adam Haines, Matthew (Kate) Byrd, Sarah Byrd, Jacob Croskey; great grandchildren, Henry and Margaret Byrd; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2025 Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Williamson officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
