Stephen Dale Blinn

Stephen Dale Blinn, 75, passed away April 10, 2024. He was born in Akron on July 22, 1948 to Raymond and Lillian Blinn. He had lived most of his life in Akron and Tallmadge.

Stephen was a graduate of Kenmore High School in 1967. He attended Akron University thru 1968 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army.  Stephen served and was honorably discharged from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam Conflict. He continued his education at Akron university after his military discharge.

Stephen was a devoted husband. Jo and Steve were married for over 51 years. Their love for each other was obvious to others. They were best friends and weathered any storm no matter how rough.  Stephen loved being a father and grandpa. He treasured being Stephanie's dad and theirs was a bond that continued throughout his life. His pride and love for her was always evident.

Stephen was fortunate to have spent many years with Amber and Tyler while they grew up. He always was available for then.  Even though his stroke in 2006 prevented him from having the personal experiences with Helena and Olivia as he had with their older siblings, he truly loved them dearly.

Stephen loved solving any issue that required logic, deep thought and a bit of creativity. Grandpa always found the answer. He had patience and took time to explain. He liked anything that involved electronics, cars and computers. Stephen loved a good video game to share with the grandkids

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillian Blinn; and his in-laws, Carl and Helen Luecht; and sibling, Raymond Blinn.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ellen; daughter, Stephanie (Kristopher) Pete; grandchildren, Amber (Cori) Norman, Tyler (Abbey) Norman, Helena and Olivia Pete; great grandchildren, Jonathon and Mason; siblings, Frederic Blinn, and Nancy Douglas; and sister-in-law, Darlene Blinn.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
