Thaddeus Major

Thaddeus Major, 86, passed away October 5, 2023.  Born in Poland, he immigrated to Akron, Ohio to escape WWII with his mother to reunite with his father. Ultimately building his life in Silver Lake Village in which he was proud to call home.

Thaddeus served the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from Ameritech (AT&T) with a successful sales career of over 30 years. He was a member of Holy Family Church and a dedicated family man who very much enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Cora Majorkiewicz; and grandson, Louis James Loftus.

Thaddeus is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Rosemary of 62 years; children, Susan Yensen, Ted Major (Leigh), Cathleen Major, Marianne Marusiak (Tim); grandchildren, Michael Loftus, David Loftus, Abigail Marusiak, Nicholas Marusiak, and Michaela Yensen; and 3 great grandchildren; and supportive brother and sisters, John Majorkiewicz (Lucy) and Helen Heffernan.

A private family Catholic Mass will honor his life with Christian interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park
