Thomas John Sparks, Jr.

Thomas John Sparks, Jr. 85, passed away March 3, 2023.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Thomas had lived in Tallmadge since 1979.  He served in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief at Dover Air Force Base and retired in 1993 from WW Grainger with 37 years of service. Thomas was a member of Tallmadge PrimeTimers. He enjoyed building bird houses, golfing, collecting cowboy memorabilia and building things.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Virginia H. Sparks.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois; daughter, Andrea Lee (Scott) Gatrell of Cuyahoga Falls; son, James (Diane) Sparks of Park Ridge, IL; grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Adam, and Amanda; great grandchildren, Norah, Pierce, Ruby, Bennett, and Emma.

Visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Chaplain David Harstine officiating.

Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
