Vera Carano of Akron, Ohio, passed away on November 10, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born in Carovilli, Italy on July 21, 1933. She married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Carano, and was married for over 60 years until Robert's death in 2015.

She immigrated to Akron, Ohio in 1956. She was talented seamstress for May Company and Ody's Suit World for over 30 years.

She was devoted wife, mother to her son, Sergio, and daughter, Lisa (d. 2004) and grandmother to Marcus (Abbie). She was preceded in death by her parents Lucio and Elisa Conti. She has many nieces and nephews and cousins in Italy.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 21st, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 North Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44310 (corner of York and Main).

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after visitation at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron, Ohio 44310 where she was a devoted member since arriving in Akron.

Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery next to her husband, Robert and daughter, Lisa.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the team of Heartland Hospice of Akron and to the staff at Phoenix of Fairlawn.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to St. Anthony's Church.
