IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vernon M.
Serle
November 14, 1948 – March 28, 2025
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Vernon M. Serle of Brimfield on March 28, 2025. Vern was born on November 14, 1948, in Akron, OH. He grew up on North Hill in Akron and graduated from North High School. Vern worked for over forty years and retired from Trelleborg Wheel Systems Americas in Hartville.
Vern enjoyed time with his family and friends. He loved watching sports, especially if there was any Cleveland team playing or The Ohio State Buckeyes. Go Bucks!
Vern found a second family and home at the Brimfield Family Restaurant. He adored the wait staff and manager, who not only paid special attention to him, but looked out for him and his every need. Vern made many new friends there and enjoyed spending time with his Morning Breakfast Crew and the Queen of Heart's gang every Monday night.
Vern will especially be missed by his brother, Tom (Sharon) Serle, brother-in-law Gary Coyne, nieces, Shannon Coyne and Katie Wirebaugh, nephew Tom Serle, his great nephews and nieces, many cousins and childhood friends. Vern was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vernon and Agnes Serle and his sister Teri Coyne.
The family wishes to thank Traditions Hospice and Kentridge Assisted Living. Traditions went above and beyond to give Vern the finest and loving care each of us so deserve. Kentridge provided Vern with a quality of living he thoroughly enjoyed from the sing along activities to having dinner with family and friends at their onsite restaurant.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 3rd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St., Akron, OH 44310. At 1:00 there will be a procession to Chestnut Hill Memorial Park Cemetery where Vern will be laid to rest.
