Vincent Victor Lorkowski, 91, passed away February 11, 2016. Born in Akron, he lived in Tallmadge for 57 years.
Vincent served in the U.S. Navy where he earned the American AREA Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, European-African Middle Eastern AREA Campaign Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. He retired in 1989 from Goodyear as a sheet metal worker, was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, loved polka dancing, gardening, and carpentry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Mary Lorkowski; and 4 brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie of 67 years; daughter, Susan (Russ) Carter of Springfield; sons, Jonathan Lorkowski, Joseph Lorkowski, Timothy Lorkowski, Thomas (Candy) Lorkowski all of Tallmadge, David Lorkowski of Stow; grandchildren, Chris, John (Yolanda), Tracy (Bob) Furtney; and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle)
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. PROCESSION TO FORM AT CHURCH.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
