IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vincenzo
Lalli
January 28, 2021
Vincenzo Lalli, 82, passed peacefully in his home January 28, 2021. He was born in Carovilli, Italy, and was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico-Antonio Lalli and Maria DiFrangia; and his brother Roberto Lalli. In Italy at a young age, Vincenzo learned his skilled trade as a brick/stone mason, moved to Switzerland and constructed buildings which still stand today. He relocated to Akron, OH in 1968 and returned to Italy in 1971 to marry the love of his life, Lucia Lalli, and they came to the U.S. to start a family.
In Akron, OH, he worked at a steel foundry and with building contractors while constructing residential basements and custom fireplaces in northeast Ohio. He enjoyed using his talent to educate his children while working on projects in their homes. It was important to him to spend this valuable time together while doing something constructive, and then enjoying a nice dinner together. He especially enjoyed Sundays with a classic Italian meal together with family.
Vince completed his last 15 years of his work life with the City of Akron where he was proud to use his trade in public service for the City. From his City co-workers to all of his friends at the Carovillese Club, he was well liked by all. He enjoyed singing and dancing while having good times at the Club with family and friends. Vince was especially proud of his children, and through his example, he instilled in them his strong work ethic, family traditions, and leading a life of simplicity and kindness.
Vincenzo is survived by his loving wife of 50 years and was a loving father to his 3 children, Anthony (Jackie) Lalli, John Lalli, Marisa (Tim) Burns, and his grandchildren, Juliana and Brady. He also leaves behind his brothers, Adolph (Josephine) Lalli and Jack (Agata) Lalli; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, make any donations to St. Anthony Church. A special thank you to Summa Home Hospice Care for their kindness and special care for Vince.
