Vincenzo Dontino Maltempi, age 95, passed away July 14, 2016. Mr. Maltempi was born in Oliveri, Italy and came to the United States in 1953. He worked in production for the A. Schulman Company and was the founder and CEO of Dontino's Restaurant. He was a WW II Veteran, avid soccer fan, and loved traveling and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Vincenzo did not join a lot of clubs and organizations but enjoyed and loved being at home with his music, family, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlo and Giovanna Maltempi, one sister and six brothers.
Mr. Maltempi is survived by his wife of 72 years, Anna;son, Carlo (Salvatrice) Maltempi of Tallmadg; sisters, Cecilia Di Pietro of New York and Francesca (Sonny) Ciccolella of Delaware; brothers, Giuseppe Maltempi of Italy and Giovanni (Ada) Maltempi of New York; grandchildren, Vincent (Laurie), Frank (Heidi), Daniel (Amy), Anthony (Michelle), and Anne; great grandchildren, Salvatrice, Carlo, Dale, Lucia, Molly, Charlie, Vincenza, Eliana, Valentina, and Vincenzo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 83 Mosser Ave., Akron, Ohio with Rev Fr James Ragnoni officiating.
Visitation will be 3 until 7 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at the DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME, 17 SOUTHWEST AVE. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Entombment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of other remembrances donations may be given to Catholic Charities Community Services of Summit County, 812 Biruta St., Akron, OH 44307.
