Virginia O (Eskew) Cousins

Virginia O. Cousins, 86, passed away December 11, 2024.  Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, Virginia, moved 20 times around the country with the love of her life, Charles.  They retired to Tallmadge in 2001 and fast became part of the wonderful community.

Though small in stature, she packed a mighty punch for the causes she so deeply cared about. Her passions included being a Navy Submariner wife, working as an RN, serving as a Hospice Volunteer, travelling with Chuck, time with her daughters, sitting on a remote rocky beach in Maine (followed by a lobster dinner), classical music, large dogs and most all animals (no snakes), family time and CHOCOLATE.  When asked how she was, she was always quick to reply, "ornery".

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and brother, Merrill Eskew.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Shawna Tromczynski (Edward), Sara (Erin Coffey) Cousins, and Amanda Cousins; sister, Mary (Paul) Thompson; her loving furry companion, Mocha.

We cannot adequately express our appreciation for her caretakers at Mulberry Gardens (Munroe Falls), Maplewood of Cuyahoga Falls, Melinda and Ruthie.  Her nurses and aides went above and beyond.  A Celebration of Life will be held next spring.
