On June 9, 2024, Virginia Andriette passed peacefully in her sleep. She graced this earth for over 95 years. She spent the last 64 years as a loving and caring mother, a doting grandmother and an "over the top" excited great- grandmother.
Virginia was born on the north side of Akron, better known as North Hill. She loved living in the predominantly Italian neighborhood, and it took much convincing to get her to move less than five miles to her new home in Cuyahoga Falls. Virginia attended Saint Martha's Elementary school and eventually worked there as a secretary. She graduated high school from Akron North. Even though Virginia was a very protective parent, we learned that of the three girls in her family, she was the rebel. She loved music, she loved to sing, and she especially loved to dance.
In 1950 she found and married the love of her life, who was without a doubt, a rebel fresh off of a boat from Italy. Virginia and Tony were uniquely different people, leading very different lives up until the day they met. Together they became one.
Virginia worked part-time jobs, at JC Penney and Jewel Mart, always working full time as a mother. Virginia was a 56-year member of the Italian Center, joining in September 1967. She would never miss her sons Alex and Joe as they played baseball, basketball and football. She would say she went to make sure that her boys did not get hurt. Virginia found great joy in life visiting and being visited by her many many friends and family members. We think she enjoyed being visited the most! She loved her many friends and family members, and truly cared about them and the things going on in their lives.
She was proceeded in her death by her father, Joseph Jacoby; mother, Josephine Jacoby; husband, Tony Andriette; brother, Hank Jacoby; and sister, Pauline Capretta.
Those whom she leaves behind include her sons, Alex (Connie) Andriette, Joe (Debbie) Andriette; grandchildren, Nick (Jean) Andriette, Patrick (Megan) Andriette, and Leah (Andrew) Cugliari; great- grandchildren, Hayes Anthony, Jax, and Jace; and her sister, Joanne Trego. There are so many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her and her loving heart and nature.
