Virginia "Val" Rensel, 91, passed away March 19, 2015.
Virginia was born in Cleveland and she moved with her family from Cleveland to Chippewa Lake in 1953, before settling in Tallmadge in 1961. She was a former president and member of the Women's Board of A.R.C of Summit and Portage Counties. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albion "Jim" Rensel and daughters, Valerie Rensel and Candy O'Neill; sister, Evelyn Wood; and parents Donald and Molly Sickman.
Val is survived by her daughters, Diane Muldowney of Norwalk, Connecticut, Michelle Mueller of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Kelli Welch of Dallas, Texas; sons, John (Sally) Rensel of Tallmadge and Mark (Linda) Rensel of Stow; grandchildren, Elizabeth, John, James, and Jacqueline Rensel, Lisa, Ryan, and Kennedy Rensel, Meghan Muldowney, Danny, Meghan and Cati O'Neill, Christopher and Michael Mueller, Adam and Bryan Welch; and ten great grandchildren.
The Rensel family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kent Ridge for their loving care.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating.
Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
