Walter J. Wyszynski, 87, passed away February 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving children.
Born in Windber, Pennsylvania, Walter had lived in the Akron area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Walter was employed with McNeil Corp. for 28 years, then retired in 1992 from Logan Machine Co. Walter was a member of St. Hedwig's Church and trustee of PNA Lodge #1099. He enjoyed playing pool and pinochle, golfing, bowling, making puzzles, and traveling. Walter loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; sister, Marie Bury; and brothers, Thomas Wyszynski and Francis Swiokla.
Walter is survived by his daughters, Marcia (Jim) Smith of Texas and Annette Cully; sons, Walter Jr. and Paul, all of Akron; grandchildren, Thomas of Akron and Sarah and Nicholas of Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wyszynski of Cuyahoga Falls; brother-in-law, Thomas Wrobel of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 85 Mosser Place, Akron with Rev. Edward Burba officiating.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post #8487.
