Wenda Dawn Drach passed away peacefully at Tamarack Ridge in Kent Ohio on November 26th, 2024. A firm and loving believer of Christ, she rejoins her daughter Amanda Drach and beloved husband Thomas Drach.
Those who carry her loving memory on include her daughter, Tiffany Drach-Bryce; grandsons, Jacob Bryce, Cameron Bryce, Tristan Bryce; granddaughter, Katlin Drach; and her great grandchildren, Lili and Finn along with her two very close siblings, Lindagrace Hickey and Arthur Counts and their families.
Wenda was known for being the joy of any gathering and cherished her family and friends above all. Growing up in Akron and around the Portage Lakes, she was surrounded by family including great times with her grandmother Irene out on the lakes swimming and boating. She married the love of her life, Thomas Drach, and started a family living in Barberton and Wadsworth, Ohio. Together they made many friends and she was active in local churches where she loved to sing.
They also organized and inspired many young youth running Wadsworth's youth football/ cheerleading league. Family gatherings and parties were her favorite where she would cook, always wearing one of her red aprons for her mother Gloria.
After the devastating loss of her husband, Wenda moved to Delaware Ohio, and devoted her time, love, and support for her granddaughter, Katlin. She also found her dream job at The National Board, where she enjoyed coordinating conferences and meetings for 13 years. Wenda spent her later years living in Kent, Ohio close to her daughter and grandchildren. She was the loudest one cheering at any event she could go to for her grandchildren. She was so very proud of her family and gave encouragement at every turn especially when her daughter, Tiffany, started Rootstown Veterinary Hospital.
Known as Grandma Wendy at Holden Elementary school, she worked with kids learning how to read and was awarded volunteer of the year in 2011. She joined Saint Mark Lutheran church and was a singer in the church band and active on church council. As her health began to fail, she became a resident at Briarwood and was known to all as the life of the party playing games and cards. She would carry that tradition to Tamarack Ridge where again she made some amazing close friends. Wenda always had a smile on her face and a funny comment to give which is why she was so admired and loved by those around her.
We lay Wenda Drach to rest and celebrate her amazing life of love, family and friends on January 11th at 2:00pm at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. off of Tallmadge Circle.
She will be deeply missed for her smile, laughter and love she gave to so many but we rejoice that she now is in the loving embrace of the Lord.
