Willa J. Barton passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, in Ft. Pierce, FL. A former longtime resident of Akron, OH,.
Willa is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom Barton, son, Aaron Miller (Roshelle Green); stepdaughters, Kim Barton Wozniak (Michael Sharpless) and Dawn Barton (Robert Macenka, Jr.); stepson, Brock Barton (Lainey and family); special granddaughter, Hailey Pesich; sister, Faye Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Don Whitmer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Jacob Miller; dedicated dog, Angel; parents, Willard and Iola Razer; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ken Payton; and brother-in-law, Eugene Reed.
Blessed with a brilliant artistic ability, Willa brightened many homes with her custom painted murals. Her creativity and talent shined through in the many spectacular Victorian tea parties, bridal and baby showers, and other events she hosted over the years. Fun-loving and smart, Willa was always ready for a game of cards or mahjong, and she developed wonderful creations through her quilting, crafting, and crocheting skills. She went back to school to learn computers which advanced her career as a comptroller for the Akron Child Guidance Center and later, as a successful real estate agent. Willa is deeply loved and missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 2, from 1pm to 4pm at Donovan Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., Mogadore, OH 44620.
The funeral service will be Monday, June 3, at 11am at Lakeview Christian Church, 4613 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44319. Family and friends are invited to join together for a meal at the church following the service.
Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
