William B Smith

William B Smith, 68, passed away Sunday, June 26 2016 after a long battle with cancer, with both his daughters at his side. Born October 30, 1947 to parents of Mae (Lee) and Harley Smith. He was the youngest of six children. Upon graduating from Kent Roosevelt High school, William enlisted into the United States Army January 10, 1967 and was sent to Vietnam for 2 tours. He was then sent to Germany until his enlistment ended on January 8, 1971, when he was honorably discharged. William was awarded the Army Commendation Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a long time member of the NEO Mustang Club of America and his passion were Mustangs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sibling, Kenny and Betty.

William is survived by his wife; Sherri; daughters, Angela M Morrow (James), Christie L Smith (Brett Gruber); sisters, Delores, Lola, and Karen; and only granddaughter, Jessica Morrow.

Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
