William E. Blaydes

William E. Blaydes, 82, passed away July 22, 2024.  Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge.

He retired from the Akron Police Department in 1989 as a Detective.  William was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, gardening and anything outdoors.  He also enjoyed watching nascar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Cloy Blaydes; sisters, Shirley Blaydes and Shelva Haymaker; and son in law, Kevin Tanner

William is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sara; daughters, Sherri Tanner, Carrie (Kurt) Garren; grandchildren, Amanda (Joseph), Brittany (Massimo), Donovan (Alissa), Jamie (Joseph), and Cameron (Alexandra); and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Case officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
