William Urquhart Reeves

William Urquhart Reeves, 80, of Munroe Falls, Ohio, passed away on February 20, 2025.

Born in Alliance, Ohio, William was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University's optometry program. He dedicated his career to helping others through his private practice at Kent Optometric before retiring from a long and successful career as an optometrist.

Beyond his profession, William had a deep love for animals. He served on the Board of the Portage County Animal Protective League and spent his life rescuing and caring for animals in need. Among his many beloved pets were his cat, Callaway, and his dogs, Roxie and Rascal—his most recent rescue from a puppy mill.

William enjoyed life to the fullest, with passions that included reading, biking, sailing, swimming, riding catamarans and motorcycles, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Jane Reeves.

William is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his daughter, Christine G. Berry; granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Berry; sisters, Robyn Callaway (Dave Rowe) and Maureen Reeves; brother, John Reeves; two nieces, two nephews, and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in William's memory.
