On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, Barbara Reynolds Jaggers, passed away at the age of 76.
Barb was born on January 5, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Alexander and Lillian (Snodgrass) Reynolds. The oldest of four, she graduated from North Central College (IL) and from Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis. After moving to Akron, she spent her career teaching in the Akron Public School system, in both deaf education at Mason Elementary School, and fourth grade at Seiberling Elementary School.
Barb had a passion for teaching. In addition to her career as a public-school teacher, she taught Sunday School and organized numerous Vacation Bible Schools for her church, Tallmadge United Methodist Church. She loved playing her instruments, piano, clarinet, and saxophone in various ensembles such as the Summit Metro Parks Ensembl Barb had a warm smile and was quick to help others. She loved reading, and spending time in Door County, Wisconsin at the Reynolds family home.
Barb was preceded in death by her father, Alexander; mother, Lillian; and her younger brother, Alex (Sandy).
Barb is survived by her daughter, Anna (Alex) Jaggers Graham; two granddaughters, Claire and Lillian; brother, Glenn (Ginny) Reynolds; sister, Janet (Bill Cardy) Reynolds; sister-in-law, Ruth Reynolds; her close friend, Karen Bennett; as well as many nieces, and nephews.
