Caroline (Ciavarella) Dalton

April 22, 1931 — December 29, 2022

Cuyahoga Falls

Our beautiful tender hearted mother, Caroline Dalton went to heaven in the arms of Jesus on December 29, 2022. She battled Alzheimer's for nine years. In the end it was Alzheimer's and a weakened heart that took her life.

Caroline never met a stranger. She was a sweet and gentle lady who was loved immensely by her family and everyone who knew her. In life she loved to bowl in many leagues with her husband and friends. Caroline also participated in many charitable events with her husband for the Akron Jaycees and other various groups. She was a member of the Lady Elks in Cuy. Falls. She liked to golf with her closest girlfriends. She liked to walk around the neighborhood and along with her close family friend Nancy Burgess. Caroline and Jerry Sr. had a group of friends " The Breakfast Club" for 60 plus years. They were together every Saturday morning and took many vacations together over the years. Caroline and Jerry Sr. were also regulars at Flury's Cafe and Village Gardens on Sunday after church. She was very close to her only grandson Vincent Michael. They hung out a lot and Vincent helped along with her appointments etc.

In her retirement years she crocheted and loved to listen to, sing along with & clap to music especially Italian songs. One of her favorite songs was Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline".

She was born in April 1931 to Antonio & Maria Ciavarella on North Hill, Akron, OH and graduated from North High School in June of 1949. Caroline & her husband Jerry Dalton, Sr  raised three children, Monica, Mary & Jerry Jr on Oxford Ave on North Hill before moving to Brimfield, OH in 1979. She resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the last 38 years.  She was a parishioner of Blessed Trinity Church (Formerly St. Martha's Church) for many years before moving off of North Hill. Currently has been a parishioner of St. Joseph Parish Church since moving back to Cuy. Falls.

Caroline retired from Eastern Central Motor Carriers Association in Cuyahoga Falls & worked part time during her retirement at the Village Gardens Restaurant in Cuy. Falls until age 75.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jerry Sr., those who have preceded her in death are her cherished grandson, Vincent M. Lauro; her brothers and sister & in-laws, Emanuele (Grace), Angelo (Nancy), Nicholas (Gloria), Babe (Phil) LoCascio & Antonio "Tony", nephew Richard, niece Nancy; sister-in-law & husband Rita (Jim) Meagher; brother-in-law & wife Paul (Carol) Dalton; former sister-in-law Beverly Dalton; nieces by marriage Carol Sue & Colleen; and several cousins & close friends including those from 'The Breakfast Club' (Original Group - The Limosonos, Burgesses, Hills, Hays, Andreas).
