Carolyn R. Wilkens

Carolyn R. Wilkens, 73, passed away November 10, 2021.

Born in Akron, Carolyn lived in the Akron and Tallmadge areas all of her life.  She retired from PNC Bank with 38 years of service after which began a new love of rocking babies at Bright Horizon for the next five years. Carolyn was a member of First Congregational Church in Tallmadge.  She enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, baking, receiving and collecting post cards, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She lived to help others and spread joy to everyone she knew. She never met a stranger and was never at a loss for words.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lyvonne Getz, husband, Thomas Wilkens, and nephew, Andrew Amicarelli.

Carolyn is survived by her twin daughters, Amy McConihe and Marie Lavender both of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Hannah and Ethan; sisters, Dianna (Ron) Phillips of Mogadore and Bonita (Ken) Powers of Michigan; brother, Alfred (Sue) Getz of Palmyra, and several step children, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Please wear red to celebrate her life.
