Chloela F (Southard) Basinais

Chloela F. Basinais, 96, passed away March 21, 2021. Born in Jacksonville, she lived most of her life in Deerfield.

Chloela retired as a payroll clerk with Roadway Express. She was a member of Ravenna Moose, VFW Post 1055 Aux. in Ravenna, American Legion Post 0331, Deerfield Dandies and Deerfield Leisure Lads and Lassies. She was also known as “The Fudge Lady” for her famous fudge. Chloela was a member of Deerfield Methodist Church. She enjoyed working at the giveaway at Friends Church in Deerfield in her spare time.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; sisters, Eileen Babb, Alberta Williams, Ruth Reger; brothers, Paul L. Southard.

Chloela is survived by her sisters, Glenna Gates, Rosemary Seay; brother, John Southard; sister in law, Stella Lohr; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W. Market St., Akron.

A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Deerfield Methodist Church, 1483 State Rt #225, Deerfield, OH.
