David Gausman Obituary

David M. Gausman, 75, passed away June 23, 2022.  He was born and lived most of his life in Akron.

David retired as a Mechanical Engineer at Ohio Edison.  He enjoyed cars (built a Cobra Kit car), and had an antique Corvette.  He also enjoyed anything with finances and the stock markets.  He shared some of his earnings with the University of Akron’s College of Engineering to support the student design teams, ZIPS Electric Racing in the 1970’s. David enjoyed making money. He was an avid runner, bicycler on the towpath, and was a fitness enthusiast. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Peggy Gausman.  David is survived by his sisters, Shirley Ann Goodrich-Scherer, Michele “Micky” (Tom) Claflin, Gary Canter (good friend since the fourth grade), many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge. 

Funeral Mass will follow visitation, 1:00pm at the St. Mary’s Church, 340 N. Main St., Hudson. 

Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 4742 State Road, Peninsula, OH 44264.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231
